SUMMARY:The Heart of Resilience: Reflections\, Connections\, and Next Steps
DESCRIPTION:As we gather for our closing reception\, this final session invites us to pause\, reflect\, and reconnect around the theme of resilience—drawing together insights from two weeks of deep dialogue and exploration\, across ecosystems\, systems\, ourselves\, and our communities. \n\n\n\nAfter intense discussion and learning\, this gathering invites a gentler\, more human conversation: what does it mean to be resilient in the face of climate uncertainty and complexity? What are some of the solutions that surfaces during the busy days of discussions\, workshops\, and informal coffee chats? This is a space to process what we’ve learned\, honor the challenges and the people behind the work\, and imagine how we might carry renewed energy and connection forward. \n\n\n\nGrounded in curiosity and empathy\, this closing session aims to remind us that resilience is not only a technical capacity\, but a deeply human one—built through relationships\, reflection\, and shared purpose. Stay to recharge\, reconnect\, and nibble over a small reception afterwards. \n\n\n\nCo-Hosts\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\nShuchi Vora\, Head of Learning\, Global Resilience Partnership\n\n\n\nJacob Johns\, Wisdom Keepers delegate\n\n\n\nAna Anu\, Founding Director\, Forest for Trees

SUMMARY:Negotiating Trade Offs for Equitable Food Value chains
DESCRIPTION:Food systems are strongly impacted by climate change while\, simultaneously\, being one of its main root causes\, contributing to at least 30% of CO2 emissions and driving the transgression of 5 out of 9 planetary boundaries. Furthermore\, the current Global food system reenforces inequalities and contributes to unhealthy diets and lifestyles. Transformative change towards more sustainable\, healthy and just food systems is therefore no longer optional but imperative. However\, such a fundamental change process will necessarily imply trade-offs between different interests\, global goals\, and actor groups. These trade-offs should not be ignored but rather openly addressed and carefully negotiated through inclusive processes that strengthen resilience for whole systems. This session examines the complex trade-offs between productivity\, inclusivity\, health\, and ecological sustainability in transforming global food systems. The discussion will count with representatives from different food system actors and address how inclusive processes for addressing these trade-offs can be designed and out in practice\, what are challenges and ways forward. To sparkle the discussion\, we will spotlight cases where resilience has worked “for the few” and how to reorient it toward shared prosperity. By confronting the social\, political\, and ecological costs of transition\, the session aims to chart realistic\, just\, and enduring pathways for food system transformation. \n\n\n\nCo-Hosts\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\nShuchi Vora\, Head of Learning\, Global Resilience Partnership\n\n\n\nNathalie Alquier\, Chief Sustainability Officer\, Danone\n\n\n\nClaudia Coleoni\, Oxford University\n\n\n\nOliver Camp\, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition\n\n\n\nJean Timmers\, WWF\n\n\n\nCristian Barrazueta\, World Rural Forum\n\n\n\nAlfredo Bottger Gamarra\, WFP Peru\n\n\n\nAnn Vaughan\, Associate Vice President\, Resilient Futures CARE\n\n\n\nJoanes Atela\, ARIN

SUMMARY:Breaking resilience silos: Building People-Centred Comprehensive Risk Management for Scaled Early Action
DESCRIPTION:Early action is one of the core pillars of resilience. Yet global frameworks—the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development\, the Paris Agreement\, and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction\, among others—have yet to fully translate commitments into scalable\, cross-cutting action due to context-specific\, siloed approaches and governance bottlenecks. As climate-related impacts intensify\, fragmented early-action practices hinder scaling and sustained impact. Comprehensive Risk Management (CRM) offers a path to break silos by uniting risk reduction\, anticipatory action\, pre-arranged finance\, and pathways for managing residual losses within people-centred portfolios. \n\n\n\nThis session will demonstrate how CRM helps countries shift from isolated climate resilience and disaster risk reduction efforts to integrated\, layered risk management that prioritises the most vulnerable\, foregrounds Local\, Indigenous\, and Traditional Knowledge with national and international actors\, and shows practical ways communities are redefining “action” with links to finance\, authority\, and community agency. It will also facilitate an understanding of financial needs and explore the existing ways to access the necessary resources\, beyond traditional approaches to accessing finance that are becoming increasingly restrictive and difficult to access for certain categories of actors. \n\n\n\nCo-Hosts\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\nAnimesh Kumar\, Head of Office\, Bonn\, UNDRR\n\n\n\nLucy Puentes\, Director of Network & Funds\, Start Network\n\n\n\nGerard Howe\, Head of the Adaptation\, Nature and Resilience Department\, UK Foreign\, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)\n\n\n\nHugo Icu Peren\, Director\, Asociación de Servicios Comunitarios de Salud\, Guatemala (ASECSA)\n\n\n\nCatalina Jaime\, Head\, REAP Secretariat\n\n\n\nHarrison Ajebe Nnoko Ngaaje\, AJEMALEBU SELF HELP (AJESH)\, Cameroon\n\n\n\nAbraham Bugre\, Co-Director-GEnSIL\, University of Regina\n\n\n\nMarcos Concepcion Raba\, Executive Director\, GNDR\n\n\n\nJamie Cummings\, Sendai Stakeholder Engagement Mechanism & Woodwell Climate Research Centre\n\n\n\nMagdalena Medrano Velasco\, Liga de Defensa del Medio Ambiente LIDEMA\, Bolivia

SUMMARY:Resilience Science Must-Knows: A deep dive on tough questions to improve real answers
DESCRIPTION:Resilience strategies are multiplying\, but coherence is not. Too many solutions remain siloed\, fragmented\, or unfit for long-term uncertainty. The challenge now is not just to scale activity\, but to scale what enables systemic and forward looking resilience that is equitable for all: strategies that are inclusive\, adaptive\, and built for addressing complex challenges. This session asks what it would really take to shift from narrative to nuance—and from concept to capacities—using a solid evidence base synthesized by the Resilience Science Must-Knows\, launched at COP30. Specifically\, the session will deep dive in three common Myths and three of the nine Must-Knows on Resilience: 1. Resilience investments pay off; 2. Resilience is not an end goal but a continuous process and 3. Addressing power imbalances is imperative for resilience. The session will have a mix panel of scientists and implementers\, business leaders\, community leaders and multilateral organizations. Following short presentations from the report authors\, the panel discussion will explore how these insights guide governance\, decision-making\, and transformation and be translated into action. \n\n\n\nCo-Hosts\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\nComing soon
