‘Breaking bad’: transforming food systems away from undesirable resilience
9 November @ 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm EEST
With a Super El Niño on the horizon and geopolitical tensions fueling protectionist responses, the world faces a heightened risk of global food emergency in the years ahead. Accelerating food systems transformations towards more sustainable, healthy and equitable food systems is critical to navigate these interconnected challenges. But transformation is not only about building the new. It demands a deliberate process of building resilience where it is needed, while weakening, phasing out, or dismantling the structures that lock food systems into unsustainable and undesirable pathways. In this session, we will explore how transformative pathways that address these different faces of transformation can be fostered.
