Peru’s Article 6 journey: from rules to results in high-integrity carbon markets

Peru has been a pioneer of cooperative approaches under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement since signing the world’s first bilateral Article 6.2 agreement with Switzerland in 2020. This session shows how Peru has moved from rules to results: the authorisation of its first project, the first transfer of mitigation outcomes to Switzerland, the first project concept notes approved with Singapore and the conclusion of negotiations with the Republic of Korea. Partner governments, carbon market organisations and the private sector will discuss how to scale up high-integrity investment in mitigation aligned with Peru’s NDC.
