As climate change worsens socio-economic disparities, those least responsible, women, youth, Indigenous Peoples, and vulnerable communities, face the greatest impacts to climate change, deepening cycles of poverty and exclusion. Breaking this cycle requires centering the most vulnerable in adaptation efforts. The Race to Resilience campaign brings together initiative driving resilience solutions through inclusive, locally-led, and system-informed approaches. This session will highlight how sectors such as water and sanitation, housing, infrastructure, and nature are being transformed through adaptation actions that enhance gender equality, agency, participation, and well-being of those most at risk, creating meaningful and lasting impact.
